Hey everyone sorry for not posting in a while, my life has been like a circus, literally! Many of my projects I have needed to keep to myself until the persons big day. So, between that and just being overwhelmed with other things in life, time got away from me.
These cakes were done for two sweet little sisters who celebrated their birthday’s together. Tessa and Lily’s party theme was a carnival, with mom giving a lot of great input and ideas for their special day. Everything I made was edible, from the candy apple you’ll see below, to the marshmallow popcorn puffs to decorate the top!
I made a candy apple out of modeling chocolate and then painted it with edible confectioners glaze to make it shiny.
I then made a fondant snow cone base and a Rice Krispy treat snow cone covered in royal icing and dipped in colored sugar sprinkles. The popcorn was made with mini marshmallows dusted in edible powdered color. Other elements for the cake were a number one for Lily’s cake a popcorn container and cotton candy (of course) for Tessa’s cake.
Lilly’s cake was buttercream so she could really sink her hands and teeth into it!
Tessa’s cake was covered in yellow fondant with a rainbow candy sour strip border.
Making these cakes brought me back to a place in time when my sons were little boys. It made me so sad, where did the time go! I feel like it was so so long ago.
